I have always enjoyed studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry, and I would like the opportunity to continue this study. Chemical Engineering appeals to me because of the challenges involved in the application of scientific theory to practical, real world problems such as how to deal with nuclear waste. I particularly look forward to studying fluid dynamics as I was introduced to this during the Engineering Education Scheme (EES). I am aware that in today’s world chemical engineering has an increasingly important role across a wide range of industries from pharmaceuticals to petrochemicals. The broad range of career paths, and the opportunity to contribute to society through technological innovation, is for me, one of the main attractions of chemical engineering.
I have applied to take part in the Year In Industry scheme during which I hope to gain practical experience, as well as greater maturity enabling me to go into my degree course with improved skills and broader experience. I also hope to study e-learning courses on project management and presentation skills run by the IChemE. In Year 12 I took part in the EES, which improved my understanding and skills in team working, time management, and report writing, as well as visual and oral presentation. Throughout the course of the project the team had to frequently correspond with mentors in industry and academia and this experience has broadened my appreciation of practice and application in a real life situation. In July I attended a week-long ‘Into Engineering’ seminar run by REACT Engineering. Working in two teams, we were given a design exercise based upon a typical decommissioning project. I also attended a Headstart course at Newcastle University, which I thoroughly enjoyed. One of the main activities was to design, manufacture and test a small crane. I found both of these experiences very challenging, as we were given only limited time so we had to prioritise our tasks and carefully plan our work.
This year a fellow student and I were awarded ￡500 by the European Scholarship Prize to fund a visit to Prague to do research for our A-level History coursework. I gained an understanding of the city’s culture and history and further developed my independence. During the summer I represented my school on a Connexions review of a government white paper on 14-19 education. I gained an insight into the government’s proposals and learned a lot about working with different groups of people. Last year I was part of the editorial team for the school magazine. I wrote a number of articles and I was responsible for ensuring that staff contributions were ready for the deadline. I also enjoy participating in a range of sports and have represented the school at football and cricket, which has further enhanced my team working skills.
In my spare time I am working towards my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. In September I completed a 4-day expedition in the Lake District, which tested my endurance but gave me a great sense of achievement. In my opinion, the Financial Engineering is a kind of creative technology to the Financial Instruments, Financial Means and system. It used to balance the benefits and venture as an interesting interdisciplinary subject. The Investment Portfolio Theory of Markowitz, the capital asset pricing model of the Sharp, Option Pricing Model of Black-Scholes and “Binomial” model of Cox can best reflect the critical position of the two subjects.
I am glad to choose mathematics and applied mathematics. Three years’ study had deepened my understanding of them, especially of mathematical modeling. (It still occurs to me when I went to attend the class of _ department given by Professor Jiang qiyuan in Tsinghua University for the first time. “1 kilogram of flour added with 1 kilogram of stuffing can make 100 dumplings, but what if the stuffing is more than 1 kilogram?” He used a very simple, vivid and interesting example which aroused my interest and led me into the mathematical modeling world.
The first time I kissed the mathematical modeling was in the summer vacation of , when I got a good opportunity to attend the mathematical modeling training organized by our school. Seasoned mathematics teachers told me what on earth the mathematical modeling is through some existing examples, in which the one about SARS impressed me most. In , SARS broke out and shrouded rapidly to the whole world, which imperiled our economic development and people’s living. Pocketed with this passion and thinking, I tasted to use mathematical modeling into practice and solve the practical problems by attending the National College Mathematical Modeling Contest with the other two schoolmates on behalf of our college. It required us to evaluate the water quality of Changjiang River according to the data, through which we had to analyze the water pollution in every region and predict the trend of it in the future. Finally we had to bring out the plan against it. It was really a challenge for us towards flood of data and estimations as long as 17 pages. We tried almost a whole day only to filter those data and take the evaluations into comprehensive account. Pulling down various models we had built before, we were so defeated that we wanted to give up many times. However, we finally found the satisfactory model thanks to our encouragement to each other which armed us with full strength to go further.We managed to evaluate the water quality by Composite index model, which could not only represent the evaluation factors, but also reflect the main impacts of the contaminations to the water pollution. We predicted the future water pollution through multiple linear regressions fitting and brought out the plan against it by building linear optimization model. Finally, we got the second prize in Beijing for our thesis. Three days’ and nights’ modeling experience had cooled our passion and gave us even more calm thinking instead. The creation of the mathematical modeling, along with the successful solution to the problems through it lied on the solid mathematics foundation, strong modeling ability, accumulation of the knowledge on different fields, unique creative ideas and creativity.
The experience from this contest further aroused my interest in mathematics. I began to pay more attention to its application as well as learning the theories. In addition, I tried to catch every opportunity to take part in the practical mathematical modeling. My efforts finally rewarded when I was in the first term as a junior. I had a chance to participate in the 3-day electrician mathematical modeling practice-----classifying the sports programs for a big sports meeting. Being familiar with the Graph Theory, I immediately found the way to solve the problems by seeking the best Hamilton circuit line. Facing the nearly 8.7 billion data files with different orders much more than that on the National Mathematical Modeling Contest, I spent a long time on Algorithm without any perfect result. I wasn’t defeated towards this case, but so excited instead that I could have such a chance to challenge and improve myself. Looking up dozens of files, I finally made a perfect end of the practice by using the Genetic Algorithm into full account. Summarizing my failures in the mathematical modeling electrician practice and proceeding from my interest in this field, I began to think of collaborating on the “Mathematical Modeling Saloon” with several students from mathematics and computer departments, taking the Computer Algorithms and mathematical modeling as the two themes of the book. Every Tuesday afternoon, we would organized those students interested in this field to study and exchange the ideas and arithmetic by imparting experience, sharing what we learnt, pondering together and discussing with each other. 留学丹麦新生要做的事项
一、安排住宿
要尽快的将住宿确定下来，因为抵达当天就要办理入住，并且确认自己的住宿地址，不然会耽误大家的入学，如果是学校的话，会比较简单，直接带上预订证明却宿舍申请即可。
而如果是在外租房的话，还需要联系中介，确认房子的情况，只有满意才能够签订合同，大家一定要看好并且确认好相关事宜，保证自己的合法权益，并且做好交接的工作。
二、到校登记
首先大家要先去学校进行入学的登记，要先将自己的合法留学生身份确定好，才可以进行接下来的事情，登记需要将自己需要出示的材料先准备好。
一般大家抵达了学校之后，会收到学校发放的入学指南，大家只需要按照学校的安排来进行准备即可，如果之前就是去好了宿舍，那么可以直接办理入住，如果没申请到，就需要自己安排住宿。
三、办理黄卡
等到大家办好了入学，拿到了学生证，并且安排好了住宿之后，就可以前往住宿所在的管理区域，进行人口的登记，领取自己的合法居留证明。

四、申请账户
而拥有一张自己的银行可也是必须的，虽然国内的银联卡也可以正常使用，但是本地卡使用起来会更方便一些，而且折扣活动正对的也大都是本地银行发放的卡。
办卡只需要出示黄卡，再按照工作人员的知道，进行申请表的填写，递交并缴纳手续费，然后大概需要一周左右才能够收到制好的卡，激活后就可以使用了。
丹麦留学行李准备清单
一、衣物类
丹麦是一个海岛国家，虽然纬度高但是由于是海洋性的气候，全面的温差不会特别大，冬天虽然冷，但是夏天的气温不高，所以大家带衣服，要以保暖为主，不过也不需要带上太多。

As the largest US human resource consultancy firm with substantial presence here in China, I was very lucky to shoot the rare opportunity to practice under the guidance of one of the senior consultant in Beijing Branch. 英国留学生活注意常识
1.交通规则——靠左行驶
在英国驾车是靠左行。步行要先看右面再看左面。初来乍到，上街时很容易忘记这一点，看错了方向，结果发现一辆车迎面向你驶来。

英国留学常识问题解读
一、听说英国环境很好?
答：看情况!
很多人会认为外国尤其是欧洲国家和美加澳等地区，这些国家的环境好，但倘若要认真负责的说，这真的需要看具体情况而定，不同国家不同城市情况也会有完全不同的感觉，就拿英国来说，多数的城市是非常干净的，但也有些城市环境不是太好。因此留学前需要自己了解清楚留学地点。

在英国，不得不吐槽的一点便是，无论做什么首先都要提前预约，明明非常简单的事情变得复杂化，就拿银行和医疗两件最为具有代表的例子举例吧，在英国的银行办理开卡是非常麻烦的事情，麻烦在于你得等。开卡的时候要预约，一般要提前一个星期，但是办理的时候是有工作人员一对一服务的，而开卡以后，银行卡是邮寄到家的，以汇丰银行为例，通常要是5-7个工作日，工作日啊，这意味着这周办的卡，基本是下周才能拿到，甚至有可能是下下周，也可能更久。
接着到医疗方面，英国的医疗其基础设施是很发达，被称为GP，但是倘若要看病那么麻烦首先预约，一般要提前一周，但是近年来好了许多，在英国看病通常两种情况，情况非常紧急有生命危险，直接打999类似于美国电话911，然后剩下的基本都是需要预约了，不过最近多了一种111，是专门应对为流感，发烧发热设置的。因此看病极为不便。

四.英国的邮政系统很发达?很精确但速度不快?
英国的邮编系统很完善，一个邮编相对应着一个非常小的区域，因此很多时候只需要在网上填表通常可以不用填写具体地址，只写邮编号码然后就出现这片区域的房子，然后选择自己的居住地就行了，但是送货速度则完全是没有办法和国内进行比拟的，相信有看抖音的朋友都曾看到过相关报道。
五.在英国购物体验好，产品多，价格便宜?
在英国购物确实很享受的一件事，主要原因是人不多，而且购物流程非常人性化，每个顾客可以一次性挑8件衣服然后去试衣间慢慢试，试衣间都是单独的而且很大，喜欢的就带走，不喜欢的直接还给工作人员，一切都随你，绝对不会有工作人员喋喋不休地向你推荐。我也终于明白为什么很多国内的女生都喜欢去欧洲购物了，除了奢侈品价格相对便宜以外，购物体验好也是一个很重要的原因吧。
在英国看商店看多了以后，会觉得怎么看怎么没新意，很重要的原因货源太充足了，一件衣服不同型号不同颜色统一款式的会有很多件，但是设计样式都非常老土(中低端)，或者说基本上都以经典款为主(高端)看多了很快就会审美疲劳。因为在英国，食物和衣服是被认为生活必需品，所以在这方面，英国更重数量而不是质量。

六、英国大学学生会很认真负责?
答案：是的呢!
相比起国内大学学生会的官场作风，英国大学的学生会就实在许多，譬如在一些大学的学生会当中一些活动，party，旅游都是学生自己组织的。而且人员精简，一般也就十几个，他们都会穿着统一的蓝T恤，非常好认，有问题都可以问他们，都会很热心的解答。学校里所有的社团也都是学生自己发起然后维持运行。
语言课的迎新party，这也是欢迎派对的一天，蛋糕，三明治，水果全都免费,不过英国的甜食都真的是特别甜，因此都很容易腻。
七.英国建筑同样有防火防盗?
答案：是的!
虽然英国的建筑基本是几百年没有改变，但是其内部设施结构还是在不断地翻新，并非非常的现代化，但是原始的砖木建筑也使得防火是个问题，尤其是在百年前的伦敦大火，让英国人心有余悸。
因此目前英国大部分的房间基本都会设置安装有烟雾警报器，防火是必备有的，当然他们也会经常有一些效仿的演习。

As a practitioner of tourism business in China, a major country of touristattraction, I have always been very proud of the tremendous potential of China’stourism industry. According to the prediction made by the 14th Conference ofWorld Tourism Organization held in Oct. 20xx, China’s tourism will experience amajor phase of rapid development within two decades and by 20xx China willbecome a country of the largest tourist influx. Vice versa, the number ofChinese citizens who visit foreign countries will reach one billion annually,ranking No. 4 in the world. What’s more, China has formally joined the WTO andthe Olympic Games will be held in x within six years. All those factors willcontribute significantly to the rapid, yet sustained growth of Chinese tourismindustry. In order for China to become a leading country of tourism within 20years, it is imperative that China’s tourism-oriented hotel industry developinto a mainstay business. In this process, to learn from advanced and successfulsystems and experiences of hotel industry in the world becomes an indispensablestep. It is my expectation that I make my own contributions to this process inmy chosen field. This constitutes the most direct motive behind my presentdecision to apply for a Master’s program in the specialty of Hotel & TourismManagement from your esteemed university.
Compared with a multitude of other applicants, I believe that my greatestcompetitive edge lies in my academic training and in my ample practicalexperience in the related fields. My undergraduate career was spent in xInstitute, often regarded as the university of tourism of China. It is the mostprestigious university in China which is specifically designed to train futureprofessionals for China’s tourism industry who are equipped with both foreignlanguage competence and specialized knowledge of tourism. For approximately three years since my graduation, I have been working as atourist guide for international travelers, a career which has further enabled meto accumulate much practical experience and expertise. Working at the EuropeanDepartment of x, the largest travel agency in China, I have been faced withconstant challenges. First of all, I have further enriched my professionalknowledge and refined my proficiency in foreign languages, both of which areessential for undertaking foreign-related tourism. 1、千万不要作弊
在国内如果考试作弊被抓到的话，可能只是挂科或者被通报批评，并不会对你以后的学习生涯造成影响。但是如果在英国留学期间考试作弊被抓到的话，这个污点会伴随你的整个留学生涯，最后你能不能顺利毕业都会是个大问题!所以在这里奉劝各位同学们千万不要以身试“法”哦!
2、别在室内吸烟
在英国室内随处可见烟雾报警器，这些烟雾报警器可是相当灵敏的，尤其是留学生宿舍。即使你身在自己宿舍也不能随意吸烟，如果你因为吸烟引起烟雾报警器鸣响的话，那么恭喜你，伴随消防队到来的还有数百英镑的罚款。
同样要注意的，不要在厨房爆炒，如果你实在想一展厨艺的话，请你一定要关门开窗，不然你的烟雾报警器同样会给你带来罚款哦!
3、不要挑战deadline
deadline即是交作业的`最后期限，如果你晚于diadline交作业的话，你将会被扣除一定百分比的分数，要是因为这一点挂科的话，你将会欲哭无泪!
4、别惹小动物
不要招惹海鸥!鸽子!大鹅!
英国法律规定英国的所有动物都是女王的私产，都是受到保护的，如果你伤害了这些小动物，据说会被遣返哦!
5、不要误食黄水仙
每年春天，超市里都会成捆成捆的卖黄水仙，野草地上也有很多含苞待放的黄水仙，与国内的蒜苔十分相似。
但是，注意了!!!

6、翘课

7、逃票
在英国逃票可不是你随便补上就可以的哦!
一旦核实你真的逃票的话，轻则罚款，重则上法庭，到时候可不是一张票的价钱就能解决的喽!
出国留学行李准备清单
1.材料准备
护照、毕业证、学位证、成绩单、公证双认证、2寸证件照(20张)
本科入学时需要向学校递交高中毕业证、会考成绩单及其公证双认证;
研究生入学时需要向学校递交本科毕业证、学士学位证、大学4年成绩单及其公证双认证。
同学们在拿到公证书时，一定要仔细核对自己的俄语姓名等其他俄文信息。
2.准备现金
第一年同学们还要购买一些学习和生活用品。还要办理入学手续，缴纳注册学籍费、延签费、医疗保险费等杂费。
第一次出国应至少带齐：第1年学费+第1年住宿费+3个月生活费+其他杂费，具体费用根据自己的情况计算清楚。
3.日用品
多功能转换插座可以多准备几个;插排两个左右。电话卡到了当地办理，一些日用品当地都可以买到。
行李箱尺寸，不同的航班要求不同，中国航空公司基本上是2个28寸的大行李箱可以托运，随身携带一个小的背包即可。
买飞机票的时候要看有没有行李额度，有的航空公司是只卖飞机座位和手提行李，所以看起来价格便宜，但是并没有行李额度，托运费很贵，全程超过一百美元。
行李可以托运也可以不托运，但不托运的行李只限20寸的箱子，而西伯利亚航空的规定比俄航的规定还严格一些，不托运带上飞机的箱子限20寸的箱子(不超过10千克，三边尺寸之和不可以大于203CM)。
托运的时候注意不要把贵重物品进行托运，比如手机，iPad，电脑等。

“All I know about leadership I learned from …….” What items could a personuse to describe leadership qualities?
Inspired by the student council advisors at my high school.
Student council was a big part of my life in high school. I have participatedin it since my frst year of high school. When I frst joined，I was quiet，na?ve，and unwilling to participate in many activities. I was scared to meet new peopleand afraid to apply myself. This all began to change. Half way through my frstyear in student council，one of the advisors can up to me and asked why I didnot participate that much. I did not have an answer for her and did not know howto respond. After this，I began to think of an answer. I became frustrated anddecided to change. I started to show up at events and had a great time. Irealized I loved this and wanted to start leading these activities. In mysophomore，junior，and now my senior year of high school，I asserted myself andtook on a strong leadership role in student council. I did not fgure out theanswer to why I was so reserved until this year with the help of thisquestion.
When I looked up leadership in the dictionary，it said that it was thecapacity to lead and the act or instance of leading. These are two very broaddefnitions of leadership. Many people have different notions of what this wordactually means. When I was challenged to use different items to describe whatleadership actually is，I thought this was going to be a hard and obnoxioustask. What could I learn from comparing leadership to a stuffed animal or arubber chicken? But when I sat down to come up with a couple of answers，Irealized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a personwants.
All I know about leadership I learned from a calculator. A calculator can addeverything together to come up with the best answer. It can delet e what isunnecessary and only include what is important. It can solve any type ofproblem. These are all important equalities a leader has to have. A leader hasto be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible plan.Leaders have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. Theyhave to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues.
All I know about leadership I learned from a ball. A ball is able to bounceback up after it is dropped. It is round and has no creases. A ball can bethrown back and forth to different people. All of these qualities are alsoleadership qualities. A leader has to be ready for every situation that isthrown at him or her. He or she has to be able to bounce back from any setbacksand never dwell on the past. Leaders have to exhibit many qualities and never beclosed-minded about a situation. A leader must be able to delegate when he orshe cannot get the work done. They have to trust everyone they lead to be ableto “catch the ball” and keep a project rolling.
This activity made me realize that being a leader is so much more than justhaving authority and having the ability to take control of a situation. A leaderhas to be trusting of all the people he or she leads and，leaders must be ableto combine ideas into one encompassing idea. They cannot sit in the backgroundand watch events happen; they have to jump in and be involved. They should notdelegate all their responsibilities away.
Leadership is more than what the dictionary says it is.
I learned through all of this that I have many of these qualities.
I have the ability to solve problems，lead through adversity，and beversatile. From answering this question，I realized that I could leadeffectively，even if my leadership style is different from other individuals.When I joined student council in my frst year of high school，I did not havethese qualities because I was never put into a situation where I had to lead. Iwas too reserved to try. When I tried，I learned that I could succeed in this. Idid not realize until I answered this question about leadership. I was neverable to see that being a leader is not just about taking control of a group andtelling everyone what to do When I was a freshman，I thought leadership wasthis. I did not know that did not have to be forceful and strict. I stereotypeda leader then. Thisis where I went wrong. A leader is about being yourself andnever letting anyone change you.
