篇1：我的父亲大学英语作文

My father always stands in the center of my life, from past till now and possibly in the future.

My family was rather poor when I was in my childhood. We didn't have our own house and had to live in a shabby, small room rented from my father's factory. The room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. I didn't have my own bed and had to sleep with my parents. This is terrible both for my parents and me.

But father made this all different! Since the room was on the third floor, namely, the top floor in that old style building, the roof was quite high above the floor. So father got an idea. He bought two thick ropes and a flat wood that later was planed smooth, painted and drilled two holes on both ends.

Then he hung the ends of ropes up to the roof. During the daytime, these two ropes would be tied up so that people down could walk freely! When night came, father would loose the ropes and tied them to the two holes of that flat wood. The length of these ropes was just long enough for me to sit or sleep on the board without other's help.

So in this way my lovely, removable bed was born.

When winter came, this special bed obviously wouldn't be able to make me feel warm enough. But father always had his so lution! He built a garret using some flat wood and iron sticks right above the bed. With some used iron tubes, he made an iron ladder for us to climb up to the garret. Besides, he made a wood en desk for me to do my homework, and some simple furniture for my clothes, books and something else he had in fact made a small bedroom for me.

At first, my mother and I dared not climb for fear that it might collapse. But father climbed it everyday to prove its safety. The garret looked simple even shabby and the ladder seemed to decline soon. But later when I got used to it, I found it as solid as those made by professional carpenters.

I carried all my personal things onto that garret. My father and I pasted red papers on the wall and painted the ugly furniture red. So the garret became the first “room” that belonged to me.When I was about to move to my new house, I just didn't want to leave. That garret was created with my father's love and sweat and intelligence, beautified with my hand and filled with so many sweet memories of my family! That hard but sweet life time would live in my memory forever with father stands in the center of it.

when i sat at the desk, trying to write the essay, i found it hard to set pen to paper. staring at the topic i deliberately chose for myself my mother, i felt the memory of 20 years with my mother suddenly turned into a haze, blurring my eyes to discern the past, with nothing towering, nothing flaring, nothing impressive or special enough as a landmark. the haze gradually cleared away, revealing the image of an amicable woman. i recalled a line from the famous movie sleepless in seattle. the radio column hostess asked sam, whats so special about your wife? he answered, thats millions of small things. right,trivial and commonplace, like obscure beans, yet woven into the most spectacular necklace by the power of love. my mother is ordinary, but in my eyes she is special.

my mother gave birth to me with eceptionally difficult labor. father received an emergency notice and was faced with a choice between the adult and the infant. of course,the adult. so my coming into this world was an unepected fortune at the price of mothers painful insistence. thus my 20 years began like this my mother eerted every effort to give me love, but i returned her with a deep scar that was to stay with her all through my growth.

my mother is a senior high school english teacher. under standably, she wanted her daughter to pick up english early to give her an edge to later study, which i did not understand at the age of eight. i was so obsessed with fun and games that i hated to stay peacefully with all those strange phonetic symbols and odd words. i wondered what pleasure mother seemed to have found in teaching me a,b, c. wasnt teaching at school tire some enough for her? i went on strike, refusing to spell a single word no matter how tender or severe mother tried to be with me. for the first time in my life, mother beat me, imprinting on my mind. the physical pain was gone long, long ago. but i have finally come to understand how it pained my mother to beat me for my obstinacy and disobedience, and i ache at her pain.

mother never gave up evoking in me an interest in knowledge. she placed the most emphasis on my education and took the most pleasure in my gradual formation of self-discipline in preparing myself for future development. thanks to her effort and influence, i have been doing well, not only in english, but also in my positive attitudes and conviction towards life.

now i am so grateful to my mother for everything she has taught me, but at that time it was far beyond my comprehension. as a little girl, i thought of my mother as meticulous and my father as a best playmate. i still remember i wrote in my elementary school a composition dedicated to my father about how he cared for me. naturally mother felt she was ignored, so i wrote another one for mother, intending to tell her she was so good a teacher that she sometimes had only students on mind and neglected her daughter. unepectedly, mother was gloomed and her eyes went wet. i am so sorry now for that affected composition. i am mothers daughter, and i am mothers student. i could never be neglected by mother, because i am the forever scar on her body, the forever pain on her mind, yet the forever bliss in her life.

i did not write much in the past about mothers love for me. today, this essay is for her, and for her only. i wish to let her know my regret and gratitude. i wish she could hear, i love you, mother.

This is the first journal of the college English, I'm not sure what to talk about. With a little moment's consideration, I would like to type down something about my university life.

As I firstly entered the campus, it was not a pleasant journey. Because of the heavy rain, my baggage got terribly wet, which took me a whole day to wish and dry them. And then came the Freshman Military Training. Though it was exhausted and awful, it was still meaningful in someway I think. Fortunately, the military training finished in 3 weeks and finally we got into main subject, our real university life.

If someone ask me ”How do you think of your university life? “ Now, I would reply with ”different “and ”challenging “without hesitation. As I have been in university for a week, I get to realize university life is so much different from what I thought before. When I was busy with the College Entrance Exam, I thought the university means less pressure, fewer subjects, more freedom, more spare time and a lovely girlfriend. I once fancied I could see wind blows woods and takes the noisy of birds away. I once fancied I could share sweet sunshine and peaceful air with a girl. I once fancied I could only spend 30% of a day studying, and the rest 70% is my own. But now, I find I have to preview, review and practise for 70% of a day, and hurry to sleep for the other 30%. In university, fewer subjects stands for more difficult knowledge, meanwhile, more spare time means wider knowledge area. Just like what a fellow student say, ”In the NPU, you pay one person's fee, learn two personal majors, do three people's homework and beat against seven men to win a love. "

And I think, in university, it's a kind of chance to get more knowledge, eat more snacks, spend more money, try more new things and say good-bye to my teenage life to get ready for another big world.
