To the nature, overpopulation is a big problem. More people, more pollution. And the big population is threatening the nature every second.
The rapid rise in world population is not creating problems only for the developing countries. The whole world faces the problem that raw materials are being used up at an increasing rate and food production can not keep up with the population increase. People in rich countries make the heaviest demands on the world's resources, its food, fuel and land, and cause the most pollution. A baby born in the United States will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the world's resources than a baby born in India. Unless all the countries of the world take united action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and more people fighting for a share of less and less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.

二、本人选择xxxx科科长职位的基本条件
这次局机关拿出28个正科职位实行竞争上岗，说句实际话，对于自己究竟参与不参与，参与了选择哪个职位，我彷徨许久，一直犹豫不决。
从年龄来看，已经年近半百，兔子跑过岭了，还参与个啥。
但似乎还想干点事，杨水才的话：小车不倒只管推嘛。
既然参与了，从利用原有工作基础、驾轻就熟来讲，我应当继续竞职办公室主任，但我最终还是选择了xxxx科科长这个职位。
(其实，这个职位是没人报第一志愿的几个职位之一，说句玩笑话，我捡了个便宜的。)之所以选择这个职位，自我感觉主要有以下3个有利条件：
第一， 具有一定的xxxx日常工作的实践经验，较为熟悉这方面的业务。
从20xx年开始，市xxxx领导小组办公室设在原外经贸局，xxx的日常工作由我具体负责，每年的工作规划，各个时期和阶段的工作督察和情况反馈，向省开放办、向市委市政府和市人大所做的`我市对外开放工作的综合汇报和专题汇报等，都是由我亲自起草，具体承办，因而，对我市对外开放工作的基本情况比较了解和熟悉。
这是能够和敢于选择这个职位的一个重要前提。
第二，具有一定的这个职位所要求的政策理论基础。
多年来，为适应工作的需要，我注意学习了解党和国家的经济政策，特别是有关对外开放、发展外经贸的方针政策，关注国内外的经济动态和发展趋势，注重分析全局性和地方对外开放的新情况、新特点，从而使自己对对外开放工作的理性认识不断提高。
第三，具有一定的综合协调能力和做好协调服务工作的基本条件。
在全方位扩大对外开放的背景下，开放办、开放科的工作应当说涉及面很广，要承担大量的综合协调任务。
而我从到现在长达7个年头的办公室工作经历和所积累的经验，正为以后在开放科这个新的岗位上工作的需要奠定了较为扎实的基础。
此外，说点题外的话。
我在机关同事中，年龄偏大，在与同志相处方面，总在提醒和告诫自己，大家能够为共同工作目标走到一起来，本身是一种缘份，所以始终要珍惜。
因此，日常工作和生活方面我都注意待人处事以诚相待，我深有感触的是我是如此待人，大家更是如此待我。
我的工作始终得到了在座各位领导和同志的关心、帮助与支持。
所以，我有理由相信，工作有调整，岗位有变化，但大家会对我一如既往。
“两好搿一好”，我深信不疑!这也是我有信心当好新科长的重要条件和因素之一。
当然，自己身上还有许多与党组的要求和新的岗位不相适应的地方，具体反映在文化学识、专业知识、政策理论水平、思维方式、工作方法等诸多方面，有待于在今后的工作中加以改善和提高。
三、竞聘后的几点想法
一句老话叫“一颗红心，两种准备”。
如果这次择岗的愿望不能实现，我会自觉服从组织的分配机会，对多年来关心、理解、帮助、支持我和办公室工作的各位领导和同志表示谢意。
如果组织上和同志们信任我，支持和聘任我到开放科工作，我大体有以?点想法：
第一，搞好理论学习，提高工作水平。
歌德曾经说过，“人不光是靠他生来就拥有的一切，而是靠他从学习中所得到的一切来造就自己”。
要胜任对外开放科科长职位，高效推进各项工作，一个很重要的前提就是要切实强化学习，不断拓宽视野，努力提高政策理论水平、业务知识素养和行政管理努力。
第二、抓好调查研究，当好参谋助手。
市对外开放领导小组办公室设在我局，开放科又承担着开放办的日常工作，随着开放带动主战略的实施，市委市政府和市开放领导小组对这个职能机构的工作，要求的标准会越来越高，而作用的发挥，重点在于参谋。
要当好领导的参谋必须知情，要知情就必须深入进行调查研究。
只有调查研究深入了，掌握的情况和提供的材料才全面、具体、准确;只有吃透上情，熟知下情，把上级的决策、指示与我市对外开放工作实际有机结合起来，融会贯通，才能为领导决策提供科学的依据，才能“参”在点子上，“谋”在关键处。
第三、搞好主动服务，树立良好形象。
对xxxx科作为综合部门，涉及面广，综合性强。
在全面落实职责的过程中，服务工作是经常性的工作，搞好了能树立起全局一个好的形象，搞差了则会影响全局的声誉。
开放办也好，开放科也好，世贸组织事务科也好，本质上是个办事机构，其性质和所处的地位，决定了其工作有很大的被动性。
如何在被动中发挥主观能动性，开展好主动服务，这是必须思考和解决的问题。
作为一科之长来讲，主要是调动周围同志的积极性，把上为领导分忧，下为基层服务有机结合起来，努力增强工作的预见性、超前性、主动性、有效性，力争不让领导布置的事情在本部门延误，力争各类事务及时圆满处理，努力发挥好商务局机关形象和我市对外开放的窗口作用。
最后，我想用三句话来结束我的发言：我对局领导说，你们的信任和严格要求是我努力工作的动力;我对同志们说，友谊和支持比什么都重要，三人行必有我师，处处留心皆学问。

Throughout the United States there are two judicial systems.
One system consists of state and local courts established under the authority of the state governments. The other is the Supreme Court and the federal court system, created by Congress under the authority of the Constitution of the United States.
The Supreme Court is the highest court in the federal court system which was established in 1789. Below the Supreme Court are the courts of appeals, and below them in turn are the district courts, which are the general trial courts for federal law. The Role of Jury Trials
In most common law jurisdictions, the jury is responsible for finding the facts of the case, while the judge determines the law. These ”peers of the accused“ are responsible for listening to a dispute, evaluating the evidence presented, deciding on the facts, and making a decision in accordance with the rules of law and their jury instructions. Typically, the jury only judges guilt or a
verdict of not guilty, but the actual penalty is set by the judge.
In the United States, because jury trials tend to be high profile, the general public tends to overestimate the frequency of jury trials. Approximately 150,000 jury trials are conducted in state courts in the U.S., and an additional 5,000 jury trials are conducted in federal courts. Two-thirds of jury trials are criminal trials, while one-third are civil and ”other" (e.g., family, municipal ordinance, traffic). Nevertheless, the vast majority of cases are in fact settled by plea bargain, which removes the need for a jury trial.
The plot of12 Angry Men revolves around the murder trail of a Latino boy who is accused of killing his father.The conviction of the boy would mean a death sentence and the destiny of the boy's life is in the hands of twelve male jurors of ranging personalities.The case seems open and shut with a murder weapon and several witnesses to place the boy at the scene of the crime.For eleven of the jurors the decision is apparent that the boy is guilty but for one juror,Mr.Davis (Hey Fonda),the boy's life should entail some discussion to eliminate any reasonable doubt the jurors may have.As the film progresses the personalities of the jurors become apparent and many underlying issues influence the guilty decision chosen by the majority of the jurors.
The underlying issues are the complexity of the personalities of the jurors and the reasons why they have the motivation to feel and act the way they do.As the case unfolds further,more is learned about each juror individually.The personalities range from being a short-tempered loud mouth to a straight- laced accountant who never breaks a sweat.As the movie progresses much more is learned of the characters that exposes the intricacy of human nature and people's different personality traits.
This film is an excellent example of movie making that does not require elaborate sets to entertain the viewer.The majority of the film takes place in a jury room with the men never leaving the room from their deliberation responsibilities.The cast and dialogue make this film memorable and the film has some clear moral issues that are addressed.The main issue is that not everything is as it seems.With further analysis the understanding of a situation becomes more concrete enabling the men to make a solid decision that affects a young man's life.12 Angry Men is a classic film that should not be missed.
From what have been discussed above, we can safely draw the conclusion that the American jury system have the two-sided , but anything existing must be reasonable .Thank you for your attention.
