Since I was a little boy, I have been fascinated by the Hollywood movies, American TV series.

Garrison’s Gorillas and Hunter represented part of my memories of happy childhood.

Later on Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Linkin Park and Green days refined my taste in pop and rock music.

I always wonder why the American cultures are so popular, why Democracy in the states prevails while in some countries it never works? I want to find my own answer.

Then I began to read the famous De la démocratie en Amérique written by a French aristocrat.

I wasn’t satisfied on Tocqueville’s conclusions of course.

I never got a chance to study or tour in the US.

But I talked to the Americans economist, Canadians law student, and those Europeans who have been to the States, whenever I can.

I observed and recorded the society and people when I studied in France and did the internship in an UN agency in Rome.

I felt the difference from the bottom of my heart.

I made friends with all walks of lives from all around the world.

I distributed breads and fruits for the homeless guy near Piazza Venezia with my Italian brother, I discussed about the belief of democracy with a French colleague who graduated from Science Po, I shared my opinion of Sino-Japanese relations with a Japanese girl, I did a stand-up show named Europe through a Chinese boy’s eyes in an underground bar facing tens of tourists.

Besides, I am not satisfied with what I learned from old version textbooks, I want to see the world, feel the world by myself.

For this reason I have to come to HNC, where I can get excellent guidance from professors, where I can meet students from everywhere.

During my schooling time, economics and finance stood by me for too long, and now I need to broaden my visions.

Therefore HNC will be a perfect place to expand my knowledge on Political Science ,International Relations and International Legal Structures.

At present I am a domestic government employee, dealing with International Financial Institutions’ loan and TA projects, being an international civil servant, working for an international organization, such as World Bank, and UN, is my dream, and hopefully one day I can fulfill my dream.
