Honesty

It is true that most of us value honesty highly. However, nowadays we often confront confidence crisis such as cheating, overcharging, fake commodities and so on. I think that we should be honest because being honest is not only beneficial to ourselves but also to others and the whole society. The reasons can be listed as tly, only honest people can be truly respected by the others and can make more friends over a long period of time.

Secondly, honesty, which is the traditional virtue of the Chinese people, can make our life easier and more harmonious. Thirdly, honesty can make our society more stable. A case in point is that Singapore, a society featuring trustworthiness and integrity, has a comparatively low criminal rate.

Responsbility can be understood in many ways. for the parents , they have had the responsibility for caring for and fostering their children since the birth of their teachers, both in kindergartens and colleges, they also should be responsible for the study and life of their students, that is to say, teahers are the second parents of children somewhile.

for us,as a friend of others,it is our responsibility to help our friends when they are in trouble or faced with difficulties. each one has the different responsibily based on their roles but we must take it for granted that we are responsible for the society.

Honesty means speakingthe truth and being fair and upright in act. He who lies and cheats is dishonest.: Those who gain fortunes not by hard labour but by other means is dishonest.

Honesty is a good virtue. If you are honest all the time, you’ll be trusted and respected by others. A liar is always looked down upon and regarded as a black sheep by the people around. Once you lie, people will never believe you even if you speak the truth.

However, in the tide of commodity economy today, it seems that more and more people believe in money at the sacrifice of honesty. To them, among such things as health, beauty, m6ney, intelligence, honesty, reputation and talent, honesty is the only thing that can be east away. They don’t understand or pretend not to understand that honesty is the biggest fortune humans own, and that it is the prerequisite for doing everything well. I think these people areto be pitied.

In short, honesty is gold. Honest, your reputation will become great;dishonest, your name will be spoiled and your personality degraded. Therefore, we should never make such an excuse as “A little dishonesty is only a trifle thing. We should eradicate immediately the seed of dishonesty once it is sowed in our minds.

Ladies and Gentlemen: My topic is Honesty.

As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story.

65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth.

He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In , he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.

Good evening, everybody! It’s my honor to speak here, and I am very glad to share my topic with you. Then today I’d like to talk something about honesty.honesty means speaking the truth and being fair and upright in act. There are just a few of words, however, doing it completely is one of the most difficult things. By contrary, Those who lies and cheats is dishonest, those who gain fortunes not by hard labour but by other means is dishonest.

Now,firstly, I will share one short story that is well known in China. It named .In order to persuade her son not to follow her to the fair, the boy’s mother promised her son to kill a pig for him. In fact, she didn’t plan to kill anything. But the pig finally died. Who killed it? Zensheng did.He said,”children know nothing to begin with, but they copy their parents and learn from them, when you cheat the boy, you are teach him to lie” This story tell us, we must have faith. If we always lie to others, we will lose the trust of others.

In the long river of history, there are many such similar stories about honesty. All those stories tell us that people are praising the quality of honesty. It was true that most of people value honesty highly. Therefore, honesty is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, we should inherit it and not let it break in our generation.

However, now the situation is not optimistic. In the tide of commodity economy today,it seems that more and more people believe in money at the sacrifice of honesty. This is a reason why phenomena of dishonesty upward trend. In people basic necessities of life, it is flooded with fake and shoddy milk, drainage oil; in the political field, many officials have no honesty carring some false bureaucratic activities or movements; in the social life field, many people believe that good faith is a kind of stupid behavior. They don’t understand that honesty is the biggest fortune humans own, and that it is the pre requisite for doing everything well. Do we really want to live in a world full of lies? I think the answer is no. Paradoxically, we all want to have a good faith society. At the same time, the good faith is also the requirement of economy society. We want to have a good faith society, first of all we should be honest.

As a contemporary college students, we are the symbol of civilzation in our country, we should set an example. Just try to put honesty into action in our normal life, we can start small. Like clean up our rooms after making a promise, turn in a wallet full of money that we found, keep a friend’s secret and so on. I believe, the good faith society will come back if we contrive for it!

That’s all. Thank you for listening, ladies and gentlemen.

As is vividly depicted in the picture , with a clear cracking sound , two bowls clashed into each other , in which the shinning one keeps its integrity , whereas the shabby one breaks into pieces. Just like being symbolically revealed in the set of drawing, the fact that the intact bowl, as a symbol of soly-invested companies , overwhelms the broken bowl representing the state-owned companies, with collision standing for fierce companies, profoundly indicates that it is time that our state-owned companies entailed reform especially after china’s entry into WTO when facing soly-invested companies abroad.

To the popular mind , it is immediately assumed that when reform in state-owned companies is argued ,it is car industry that is meant. To account for the above-mentioned phenomenon , several points should be figured out. For one thing, some of car industries once enjoyed the glorious past , They have ,however, gradually lost their market shares when soly –invested companies were sweeping into domestic market. For another , in order to turn the corner ,the leaders of them should adopt the policy of reform such as acquisition, re-engineering and introduction of advanced technology and concepts of management. No better illustration of this idea can be thought than the example mentioned below, No 1 Motor Vehicle Plant has witnessed from predicament to rejuvenation through none other than effective steps mentioned above. Therefore ,no issue is as critical to individual and national survival and prosperity as reform in state-owned companies.

Accordingly , it is vital for us to derive some positive meanings from this thought-provoking picture. It is ,hence, necessary that efforts be made to follow the spirit of reform concerning state-owned companies. On one hand, the government should make law to perfect irrational rules and regulations being visible in reform process. On the other hand, the leaders of state-owned companies should enhance the awareness of reform .Only by undergoing these steps ,can our more state-owned companies become members of Top 500 in the world, which, indeed, has gone to the heart of maintaining good momentum of national economy growth.

Not long ago, we visited the Lugou Bridge in the war of resistance against japan. The museum displays the hard, tragic history makes us worried, fist. Main hall on the relief, unarmed people, but under the bayonet, machine guns of the Japanese invading army, but in the hometown of barren land; stacking of pebbles covered the bodies of hundreds of children, a statue of a mother standing on one side. Her hands on chest elegy, hand clenched fist there. This tragedy and hatred in the solidification of more than half a century. A picture, a paragraph of text, deeply shocked me, shook the hearts of every Chinese people! History here suddenly tall, it is connected to the life and death, love and hate, sadness and anger, and a nation and national dignity; history here awe inspiring Fen arm, shouting out a ides: ”past experience, if not forgotten, funeral teacher!" The war of resistance against Japan for those of us born in the 90s of young children is a we didn't experience the special history, through this visit, so I recognize the painful disaster brought by the Japanese militarism to our Chinese nation, is also the history enable us to recognize the essence of the Japanese invasion of China, but also made me understand that the only national prosperity, national unity, social stability and national defense Qiang Dacai not be beaten, not is insulting, can stand tall in the forests of the nations of the world. We rejoice that the great Chinese nation has five thousand years of splendid history and culture; we are glad that our country there are many many indomitable, take the bull by the horns, fear no sacrifice of national hero; fortunately, we have the correct leadership of the Communist Party of China, lead us to victory; we celebrate the privilege of Chinese people with noble personality and excellent character, the China children is beat to death, don't scare, daunt the nation; we are grateful world Xu many anti fascist fighter support our just cause; we are fortunate in the world always triumph of good over evil, truth always on the side of justice; fortunately, we such as near Oriental dragon has awakened. Today Chinese has shrunk, are moving towards prosperity, broad step by step democratic direction stride. Our children must cherish the hard won good life, inherit the legacy of revolutionary martyrs, fathers footsteps and unyielding, determined to serve the country.
