After the final examination, I received a letter from my uncle and aunt who invited me to stay with them for a fortnight. They live in the countryside near a beautiful mountain. The news brought me a restless night. Next morning, after almost a day's ride on the bus I reached their home and I was kindly received by them. They prepared a very nice and airy room for me, Just coming inside, on a small table I found a vase of roses----my favorite flower. I thanked them for their kindness. When they left me to take a rest, I really could not do it. My attention was taken away by the charming and picturesque scenery outside the window. 这不，刚放暑假，爷爷就给我买回了一套练书法的工具，笔、墨、纸、砚样样齐全，还为我精心挑选了好几本字帖，准备教我练书法。刚开始爷爷先给我讲解有关写书法的基本要领和技巧，然后又写了几个漂亮的毛笔字给我做示范，我看爷爷写得那么好，很不服气，心想：“我平时钢笔字就写得好，书法嘛！对我来说根本是小菜一碟！”于是，我拿起毛笔，大笔一挥，就写出了一个“永”字，可是，我定睛一看，刚才的兴奋劲儿一下子就烟消云散了，大伙来看看这个“永”字，不，这根本就不是字！说书法要做到“横平竖直”，可我写的这个字，根本看不到什么“横平”，就更别说“竖直”了，看看，我写得横，歪歪扭扭，像一条在地上爬的蚯蚓，难看极了！竖呢？都歪到了“马路”边，而撇和捺，一个细得像根线，一个又粗得像木棒子，我看后十分气愤，把笔往旁边一扔，大声喊道：“什么破书法、烂毛笔，不学了！哼！”而爷爷却在一旁笑眯眯地对我说：“孩子，练书法可不是一天、两天就能学好的，要坚持天天练才能出成果，别灰心，爷爷陪你一起练。”听了爷爷的话我很受启发，于是，就跟着爷爷用功地练书法。每天，我们俩都会抽出固定的时间一起练书法，就这样，一个星期过去了，我写出的毛笔字和原来相比，简直是判若两人，有些字都可以和爷爷写的字比美了。现在，我每写出一个漂亮的毛笔字，就十分有成就感，心里像吃了蜜一样甜……
妈妈看到我坚持练习的成果后，也感到很欣慰，笑着说：“你们爷孙俩一起并排坐在书桌前练书法的样子，真是我们家里最美的一道风景啊！”我们全家人听后，都开心地笑了……
