一、作业指导书应尽可能简单、实用
规定质量体系程序的“范围和详略程度应取决于工作的复杂程度、所用的方法，以及开展这项活动所需的技能和培训”，同样作业指导书的详略程度也与此有关，并应尽可能简单、实用，为此能够采用以下方法：
首先，写你该写，即尽量突出控制影响质量的因素及结果的评定方法有关的资料，而有关操作的步骤等资料尽量少些，建筑施工是一个逻辑性很强的作业任务，一般施工人员都能确定逻辑先后顺序。
其次，尽可能写得最易懂。不要用复杂的、冗长的、夸张的语言来编写，无论员工的文化程度有多高，人们也喜欢看容易阅读的东西故应选择通俗易懂的句子来表达，避免使用难懂的、生僻的词语，再就是建筑施工的工人文化素质有限。
