like mr. crabiel, i literally work tirelessly in many academic and leadership roles. i sleep no more than six hours a night because of my desire to expertly meet my many commitments. throughout my life, i have worked as long and as hard as i possibly can to effect beneficial changes in both school and society.

during the summer of tenth grade, i took a number theory course at johns hopkins university with students from alaska, california, and bogota, colombia. similarly, during the summer following eleventh grade, i was one of ninety students from new jersey selected to attend the governors school in the sciences at drew university. at drew, i took courses in molecular orbital theory, special relativity, cognitive psychology, and i participated in an astrophysics research project. for my independent research project, i used a telescope to find the angular velocity of pluto. with the angular velocity determined, i used einsteins field equations and keplers laws to place an upper bound on the magnitude of the cosmological constant, which describes the curvature of space and the rate of the universes expansion.

in addition to learning science, i recently lectured physics classes on special relativity at the request of my physics teacher. after lecturing one class for 45 minutes, one student bought many books on both general and special relativity to read during his study hall. inspiring other students to search for knowledge kindles my own quest to understand the world and the people around me.

Study in British will make me get the related technologies to serve for the ports and logistics in Amoy and Cardiff. For example, I can make better use of logistics and its organization of Amoy ports by learning from advanced logistics design and logistics appliance of Cardiff ports, so that the working efficiency would be improved either.

Learning management of city logistics will bring me a new vision to the city logistics system of Amoy and Cardiff, especially how light railway influences urban transportation. 我是××××，××省××市人，现在是××大学××学院××级××班的一名即将走出校门的学生。大学三年里，我始终保持着积极向上的心态，时时以高标准要求自己的同时，妥善处理好学习和工作两者之间的关系，努力做到全面发展，现将本人基本情况介绍如下，作为各位领导的评审参考。

我出生于××省××市××县一个农民家庭，家里有五口人，上面还有一个哥哥，一个姐姐。小时候家庭负担比较重，因为要供我们三个读书，上面还有奶奶要抚养，父亲便外出打工，母亲在家务农，生活很艰苦，都说穷人的孩子的早当家，我从小就帮助家里做一些力所能及的事，减轻父母的负担。但我得感谢这艰苦的童年，它使我从小就养成了吃苦耐劳、艰苦朴素的良好作风。后来家里情况有所改善，但是我妈妈去年得了重病，花去医药费数万元，而病情只是得到暂时的缓和，仍需继续治疗，而爸爸为了照顾生病的妈妈也已经一年半没有工作了，我又没有毕业，这一切都使得家里的经济压力越来越紧张。

入校三年以来，综合素质有了很大的提高，不论是专业知识的储备还是工作能力的培养或者是人际关系的维持方面，我都显得日趋成熟。学习上，我认真刻苦，有明确的学习目标，也讲究一套自己的学习方法。在校三年每学期都获得专业奖学金，具体如下：2005-2006学年分别获得一等奖学金、三等奖学金，2006-2007学年获得两次三等奖学金，2007-2008年获得两次二等奖学金。大二下学期参加英语专业四级考试，成绩获得良好，并取得国家计算机一级证书。大三上学期通过自己的努力获得了剑桥商务英语中级（BEC）证书。大三下学期参加了外国语学院举办的第一届“金凤凰杯”专八词汇比赛，得到了二等奖。本学期我的目标是研究生考试，现在除了在怀化认真参加学校组织的教育实习外，还在为考研作充分的准备，以便在明年的研究生考试中能够取得好的成绩，同时也更好地提高自己的专业素质。除了专业知识外，还经常去图书馆阅读其他方面的书籍，看报纸，听广播了解时事，跟上时代的步伐。

努力学习的同时还积极参加学校、学院组织的各项活动，大一在外院举办的“HappyEnglishCorner”中参演话剧“孔雀东南飞”获得三等奖。并且是校文明寝室、院优秀寝室成员。除此之外，积极参加社会实践，去天门中学教书，去张家界市慈利县做社会调查，寒暑假去外面找工作，减轻家里的经济负担同时，把所学知识应用到实践中去，并且学到了许多在书本上没学到的知识。积极参加体育锻炼，课余时间去操场散步，慢跑，与同学打羽毛球。这使得我身心健康，精力充沛，也为我良好的性格和优秀的成绩打下了基础。伴随着年龄的增长和思想的成熟，在严谨的校风下，我更加关注如何能够为我身边的人和社会贡献我的一份力量，在各类社会捐助活动中，我热情也响应并积极参与。

大学里面虽然没有进学生会，不能为院做出更大的贡献，但是我始终支持院里组织的任何一项活动。大学期间取得了很大的进步，在成绩和荣誉背后，是学校的发展给我创造的良好条件，是老师的悉心指导与同学的默默支持，也有我踏踏实实的付出和永不言败的'执着。面对社会这所没围墙的大学，我一定会不断地更新自己，不断地给自己充电，争取在激烈的社会竞争中不断取得进步和成功。

而现在，母亲需要进一步的治疗，家里的经济情况越来越紧张，可是令人可喜的是，如今党和政府正在高度关注我们大学生的生活，给予了我们这次申请奖学金的机会，我特向学校申请国家励志奖学金，它不仅会在经济上给予我极大的帮助，更是对我学习成绩、综合素质的肯定。所以我真的非常渴望能够得到这次机会。还望领导能够从我的实际情况出发，给予我这份荣誉，真诚的感谢您们！
